Joan is the Vice President, IT Optimization within the Division of Clinical Innovation for the Geisinger Health System. She directs the development and expansion of Geisinger's eHealth initiatives, specifically as they relate to streamlining use of the electronic health record & IT applications to improve quality, patient safety and clinical operations. She is accountable to achieve best practices in the optimal use of IT resources. Joan serves as a primary facilitator to transform the delivery of healthcare. She has operational responsibility for the patient & physician portals and the system's clinical data warehouse operation.

Joan's 25 years of Healthcare experience include clinical performance improvement, healthcare finance as well as clinic & hospital operations, with expertise in the use of the electronic health record and information technology.

She is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a BS degree in Health Administration.
